Smelly Computer is an experimental project that explores scent as a novel way to interface with a computer. Instead of relying on visuals, sound, or touch, this device generates and detects specific smells to create a new kind of interaction. The project investigates how scent can function as an affordance — a cue that naturally guides user behavior. By associating different smells with distinct system states or commands, Smelly Computer challenges conventional UI paradigms and asks: Can we navigate a digital environment through our nose?
